One of KZN's highest achievers

Mhlengi Shange, recognised as one of KZN's highest achievers in the Grade 12 NSC exams of 2021, extends heartfelt appreciation to Inqubeko for our extraordinary contribution to his journey. Our efforts have left an indelible mark on his path to success, with outcomes that undeniably validate his endorsement.

Hailing from Umlazi KZN and attending Menzi High School, Mhlengi's academic trajectory was no mean feat. Having secured an impressive 7 distinctions in matric, with an outstanding average of 96%, he was determined to transcend the limitations his background presented. Raised within a family of 12 and driven by a fervent desire to uplift his loved ones from poverty, Mhlengi assumed a pivotal role in major family decisions early on. He stands as the second family member to pursue higher education, and with determination, he is poised to be the first to secure a degree.

Mhlengi's anticipation for involvement in the Inqubeko programme was palpable, as he recognised his academic challenges. Notably, the programme proved to be a catalyst for transformative change, refining his grasp of mathematics and science and imparting invaluable life lessons through mentorship. Presently, Mhlengi is immersed in his studies of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, with aspirations to explore the field of finance.
