Inqubeko, a leading talent strategy firm committed to empowering businesses and communities, in collaboration with South32 Hillside Aluminium, proudly announced the successful launch of the Next Generation Achievers Programme (NGAP). The launch event, attended by esteemed stakeholders, including representatives from South32,local schools, principals, learners, parents, journalists, and the Department of Education, marked a monumental step towards empowering local youth in the KCD community.

The NGAP, a flagship initiative under Inqubeko's High School Leadership Development Programme, aims to equip learners from Grades 10 to 12 with essential skills in mathematics, science, leadership, and life skills. Through a comprehensive curriculum featuring mentorship, life coaching, short courses, leadership development, and a strong emphasis on math and science proficiency, NGAP seeks to nurture thriving, employable individuals ready to contribute meaningfully to the workforce.

Gugu Maphisa, Director of Inqubeko Training highlighted the transformative potential of NGAP, stating, "The launch of NGAP signifies a new chapter in talent development and community empowerment. We are excited about the possibilities this programme holds for the youth of Richards Bay and greater KCD community, as we work together to cultivate a generation of leaders equipped with the skills and vision to uplift their communities."
Moreover, the NGAP programme, generously sponsored by South32, will support 75 learners from local schools in Richards Bay, paving the way for future employment opportunities in the mining, engineering, and technical industries. With Richards Bay emerging as a hub of opportunities, NGAP aims to bridge the gap between local talent and industry demand, ensuring a sustainable future for the region.

Looking ahead, there is a real sense of anticipation as NGAP sets the stage for transformative change. “As we embark on this journey, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders who have embraced our vision, including South32, participating schools, teachers, principals, learners, parents, and the Department of Education. Together, we are committed to nurturing talent, building communities, and creating a brighter future for all,” continued Gugu Maphisa.

Inqubeko's High School Leadership Development Programme and other solutions are designed to align with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) spend requirements. By investing in NGAP and similar initiatives, companies like South32 fulfil their B-BBEE obligations while making a tangible impact on local communities and economies.
